“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”

–Psalm 119:105 NLT

Hi there! Welcome to My Luminous Path. I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m so excited that you have chosen to join me on this spiritual journey.

My Luminous Path blog is all about Jesus and sharing His light. If you don’t already know Him, and if you’re interested to learn more about Him, you’re in for an adventure because He is all about YOU! Believe it or not, no matter what you may be facing right now, what mountain you have to climb, what river you may have to cross, Jesus is your inspiration and hope along life’s rugged paths. He is the answer!

So who am I, why am writing this blog, and why should you care? Well, my name is Patricia Malia. I’m a Christian. I’m not a Theologian. I never went to Bible school and to tell you the truth, I’m just on a journey of seeking and serving my Creator, and I want to invite as many of you who are willing to join me on My Luminous Path. You see, I love to write, and have been journaling on and off for years. The best part of my day is spending time with the Lord. I always look forward to my daily devotional time with Him, which involves Scripture reading, prayer, and meditating on His Word, so what better way to share my spiritual thoughts than in a blog.

I know first hand what it means to walk out life with the Lord.  Choosing Him is the best decision I have ever made. When you follow Jesus Christ, He will not only be a great companion, but a magnificent guide who will never let you down, nor will He allow you to get lost along life’s journey. In fact, God gave us this promise in His Word, which is the Bible. He said, “I will never leave nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5 and Hebrews 13:5). I assure you, if you seek the Lord with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13), you will not only find Him, but you will have a friend for eternity.

My hope is that this platform will be a source of encouragement for you and a place you can feel safe to express your heart, and shine your light. I can’t wait to hear from you so please subscribe for updates and inspiration. If this blog is an encouragement to you, please share with someone you know who may need a little refreshing right now.

Thanks for stopping by, and please come back to My Luminous Path anytime!

“God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.” — Max Lucado

I'm living my life to the fullest...

“Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear, and doubt. He is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all of our needs. When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life, I found that my worrying stopped.”

–Dr. Charles Stanley, In Touch Ministries

Do you ever feel empty, hopeless, helpless, discouraged, and not sure where or who to turn to?  Imagine you’re in a room full of people, yet you feel alone and unnoticed. Have you ever been disappointed, betrayed, overlooked, rejected and frustrated with life? Welcome to the club. You are not alone friend, and more importantly, I know someone who knows a thing or two about all that stuff and He has the power to show you the way to victory. There was a time in my life when I was rejected. Perhaps you can relate. It is one of the most devastating feelings. The pain of the rejection almost paralyzed my self-esteem. Had it not been for Jesus, I would not be writing this blog today. I will share more in future posts of how God lifted me out of the pits of life. Believe me friend, and hear me when I say, Jesus understands your pain and He understands mine. Where you are and what you may be going through right now  is not a surprise to God. Nothing is too farfetched or impossible for Him.

I hope by sharing my passion to follow Jesus will somehow encourage you to make Him your center as well or at the very least, investigate this Jesus I’m talking about. But more than that, I challenge you to check Him out and share how the Lord may be knocking at the door of your heart, and how He is transforming you from the inside out.

My desire is to grow spiritually, develop closer intimacy with the Lord, and commit to carrying out His mission. Jesus is the driving force of my life. Tell me, have you ever been so excited about something or someone that you couldn’t contain yourself? Think back when you met the love of your life. Would you not admit that even a simple thing as his or her breathing on the phone gives you an exhilarating feeling? The sound of his or her voice or the person’s very presence does your heart good? That’s exactly how I feel about Jesus. I’m so excited about Him and about how He is supernaturally working in my life. So much so, that at times, I just feel like shouting from the rooftop and sharing with everyone and anyone who will listen. I’m encouraged by King David’s adoration of the Lord in Psalm 103:1-2 when he proclaimed, “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul and forget not all his benefits.” I’m excited about Jesus because He has been my Rock in all the rollercoasters of life. I can’t imagine life without Him. It may seem like I’m repeating myself, but I can’t say enough about how the Lord has and is working in my life, even in ways I may never know or even understand.

...and making memories along the way!

My hope is that this blog will be a vessel that God uses to motivate readers to seek out Jesus and spend time with Him. If you are not already doing so, let me encourage you to get to know Jesus. You will be so blessed. Each week, I will share with you what I’m learning from God’s Word and how He is using His Word to transform my life. I will also share Scriptures and inspiring quotes that speak to my heart and the life lessons I’m learning along the way.

Perhaps right now you don’t yet have a spiritual journey and never really gave it much thought. That’s okay. I would still love to hear your thoughts. Listen, we all have to start somewhere, and what’s great about the love of Christ is that He meets us right where we are. I wasn’t always in this space. I was once on a path of self-fulfillment, seeking all the superficial promises this world has to offer, and got lost in the rough terrains before coming to a major crossroads in my life. It was at that point I came to the end of myself, realizing that I can’t do this life in my own strength. While I was trying to figure out what road to take, I was introduced to Jesus. Oh, I had heard about this Jesus all my life. I just didn’t know Him intimately as my personal Lord  and Savior. It took some time, but ever since I relinquished my life and my desires to God, I have to say, there is a peace in my soul that is beyond  comprehension (Philippians 4:7). It’s a peace I can never explain, except to say that it’s been a guiding force for me on My Luminous Path to Christ.
